This sermon is a sequel to my previous sermon. (If movies can have sequels, why can't sermons?) Last time, we explored the many ways we experience and express our grief. This time, let's examine how we recover from a loss.

Whether we use the word 'story', 'myth' or 'legend' we should understand the emotional power behind them. It matters.
On July 4, her voice choked with emotion, Mary Moser zoomed into our talk back to say so much of life is out of reach and added "I love you all." Rev. Pat Jobe has gone plumb crazy over the moment and will deliver an emotion-soaked reflection on just how much those eight words meant to him. Charlie Tyler was pretty touched, too, as were many others in the room. Don't miss this shout out to one of our beloveds by our rip-roaring, light up the bumpers on the pinball machine guest speaker. The theme for the month is "Story," and Jobe has quite a story for you all.
Listening to stories is part of children's lives. It was surely part of mine. I'll recognize some of those old stories and reflect on what they mean today.
Whatever our differences, one thing we all have in common is the experience of loss. We will consider not only different kinds of losses but how we experience and express our losses differently.
