Sermons and Services
Rev. Jobe comes back into our video screens on Aug. 9, the sad anniversary of the atomic bomb dropping on Nagasaki, to talk about several questions that arise in our current moment of racial tension, racial healing, racial change. What does it mean to be white? What can white people do to work for racial justice? What can a UU congregation in Bluffton do to work for racial justice? Being UU's we also might ask what men can do for full equality for women and protection against sexual harassment and assualt? The larger question of whiteness also pulls us into the discussion of immigration, poverty, homelessness. This service might be a heck of a ride. Jobe will also defer to those who feel powerless in the face of so much wrong in the world; and will offer a word of encouragement for us all. VIDEO ONE: Chalice "Praeludium IV" J.
