"Let us be grateful for the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom." - Marcel Proust, French Novelist (1871-1922)
I hope all of us have such people in our lives, people who make us happy. People we can count on to make our day just a little brighter. In turn, we can be the charming gardeners who make ourselves and others happy. Everyone needs happiness to truly blossom and to add to the garden of life. I further hope your inner happiness blossoms and shines brightly.
“To me bravery is to stand up for what you believe in.” - Sophie Turner, actress
Most of us have been, are now in, and will be in positions where we know our beliefs are contrary to others. Think about what you did or will do. I imagine that most of us at least expressed our views, and probably did more. We understand the importance of being brave. We saw seven examples of bravery this week. Let’s be grateful for our own bravery and for all who show bravery.
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass... It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” - Vivian Greene, British writer
Many of us can still feel the rain that has been with us for too long. The storm may have past, but the intermittent showers continue. Now is the time for us to take out our umbrellas of knowledge, love and compassion, and dance in the rain. The larger our umbrellas the more we can invite to our party.
“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.” - Maya Angelou
We have uncertain times ahead, and we have paths to choose. My hope is we choose love for the change we want to see. This way our energy and efforts will focus on what we want the world to be. Not everyone will be on the same path, but at least we know we loved enough to give ourselves and others hope for a better tomorrow.
