Membership at UUCL
How Does One Become a Voting Member of UUCL?
Any person may become a voting member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Lowcountry by signing our Membership form and by making an annual financial contribution of record to the Congregation.
The entire process of becoming a member of UUCL can take place over email.

Membership Guidelines according to our UUCL Bylaws:
Any person is a member of this Congregation who has: (1) attained the age of eighteen (18) years; (2) signified agreement with its principles and purposes by signing his/her name in the membership book; and (3) made an annual financial contribution of record in the past twelve (12) months.
Once each fiscal year the Finance Committee or designee shall report to the Membership Committee Chair, Membership Committee Board Liaison, and Minister those members who have not made a financial contribution of record in the past 12 months. Those three individuals or their designee shall decide which of the non-contributing members shall be granted a waiver from the financial contribution requirement for that fiscal year. All other non-financially contributing members will be recommended to the Board to change their status from “member” to “friend.”
A person must have been a member for at least 15 days in order to be able to vote. Only voting members may vote at congregational meetings.
Fifteen (15) days prior to a congregational meeting the Secretary of the Board will receive from the Membership Chair a list of voting members. This list will be posted in a public place in the building.
